North Huron issues a press release today on the Vaccination Policy for the Township.
In the release they say that Provincial Proof-of Vaccination requirements came into effect September 22nd.
They say with that came a requirement to show proof of identification and full vaccination at all points of entry for those 18 and over at organized sports or recreation facilities.
North Huron says they are adhering to the letter of the instruction that was subsequently received from Huron Perth Public Health on October 8th.
The policy they add means that for those 12 and older who attend indoor area of a facility for organized sports, whether it is taking part in, coaching, officiating or volunteering or being a spectator are required to adhere to the proof of vaccination policy.
The facilities themselves are required to develop and implement a vaccination policy for facility staff, those that enter the premises to do work or volunteers.
The release adds that North Huron is strongly recommended all Township employees and those that work or volunteer in the facilities be vaccinated.
In concert with the release came a Press Release from HPPH on a Inspection Blitz of North Huron due to what they say were questions about compliance in the area.
The inspection found 94% of North Huron operators were in compliance with provincial requirement. One ticket is pending.
