A recent fire in the Municipality of Meaford has been confirmed to have claimed the life of one person.
The fire, which occurred on November 27th just before 11pm saw the Grey Bruce OP, along with the Inter Township and Chatsworth Fire Departments and Grey County EMS respond to a fire on 10th Concession in Meaford.
One person was removed from the residence and they were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The victim has been identified as an 81 year old male of Meaford.
The investigation is still ongoing with the assistance of the OPP Forensic Unit, the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Fire Marshall.
