The Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association recently announced it will conduct a province-wide strike vote on October 18th and 19th.

President Rene Jansen in de Wal says they have been bargaining for more than a year with a goal of realizing a fair, negotiated agreement that supports all students, educators and families.

They add the Ford Conservative government has failed to demonstrate real interest to engage in meaningful discussions about the critical issues.

The Union adds that the government violated its legal obligation to negotiate in good fail by implementing Policy/Program Memorandum 168.
