OPP introduce New K-9 team to serve Huron & Perth Counties

K-9 Bert is a 4-year-old Belgian malinois and is trained in criminal apprehension and explosives detection. His handler is Provincial Constable Bourgeois.

The Huron County OPP introduced a new team to the Police force with K-9 Bert and his handler Provincial Constable Bourgeois.

The two will be assigned duties in Huron and Perth Counties.

Bert is a 4-year-old Belgian malinois and is trained in criminal apprehension and explosives detection.

The Canine Unit itself is on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for assignments across the Province.

They are involved in Search and Rescue, Tracking Wanted Persons, Detecting Narcotics, Explosives, Cadavers and Physical Evidence.
