The OPP laid around 12,600 traffic-related charges in Ontario during Canada Road Safety Week over the recent week week long initiative.
In West Region Detatchments the total was over 2,600.
Locally in South Bruce 125 charges were laid during the week.
The charge coming in highest was speeding with 94 charged locally and 1,552 across the West Region.
The second largest charge being laid over the time period was 5 in South Bruce for not wearing their seatbelt and 94 in the Region. This was against both drivers and passengers in vehicles stopped.
Closing out the top 4 infractions was impaired and distracted driving.
