OPP make arrests in separate incidents near former youth centre

Huron County OPP have made some arrests in separate incidents near the former Bluewater Youth Correctional Centre.

Back on November 23rd, they received a call about a suspicious person in the vicinity of the centre.

Officers located the individual on Highway 21 near Black’s Point Road and an investigating reveal that the person was in violation of certain conditions.

An ensuing search turned up break-in tools, counterfeit money, and suspected methamphetamine.

A 38-year-old from London, Ontario is facing charges.

On Sunday, an officer noticed some fresh tracks entering the property.

The officer discovered the locks to the front entrance had been cut off.

Two people were arrested about an hour later as they were leaving the premises.

Two 23-year-olds, one from Caledon, the other from Brampton, were charged with mischief and trespassing.

All of the accused have been released with future court dates.
