October is Cyber Security Awareness Month.
The OPP are using this campaign to make the public aware of the dangers of internet use.
The most common internet-related criminal activity is fraud (cyberbullying and online luring are a couple of other examples), and South Bruce OPP Inspector Krista Miller says the number of calls they receive regarding scams is quite alarming.
Miller also cautions those who are buying or investing in cryptocurrency online and to make sure that they are dealing with reputable companies.
