The number of fatal motor vehicle collisions in Ontario are at a 10-year high.
That is according to the Ontario Provincial Police who say there were 107 fatalities so far this year.
In a news release, they say a majority of the crashes were the result of poor and careless driving behaviours, most if not all were preventable.
They say two driving behaviours stand out, one is driver inattention, the other is impairment by alcohol or drugs.
OPP say during Canada Road Safety Week, they will be conducting robust enforcement and education involving inattentive/distracted driving, speeding and other aggressive driving, alcohol/drug-impaired driving, seatbelt compliance, and other risky road behaviours.
