OPP across the West Region kept busy for the Thanksgiving Long Weekend.
With Operation Impact over the weekend, police were focused on negative driving behavior which contribute to death, injury and property damage on Ontario roads and highways such as speeding, failure to wear a seatbelt, distracted driving and impaired operation.
Over the campaign, OPP across the West Region laid a total of 2152 charges from October 9th-12th, up from the 1832 done last year.
The big four saw 1030 speeding charges laid on top of 83 seatbelt infractions, 15 for distracted driving and 41 for impaired driving.
