The City of Owen Sound saw one of its Firefighters, Joe Forbes, finish in first place at the FireFit Lake Huron Regional Championships in Port Elgin last weekend.
Each event is a physically demanding competition based on fire-fighting tasks commonly performed in emergency situations. The competition is often referred to as the toughest two minutes in sports.
As the number one athlete at this past weekend’s event with an outstanding time of one minute and 22 seconds, Joe qualified for the National FireFit Championship in Windsor in the coming weeks.
Owen Sound Fire Chief Phil Eagelson said that the Department is very proud of Joe and his success adding his dedication is remarkable, and they wish him continued success at the upcoming National Competition.
