Owen Sound Police are looking for the public’s help after an incident of a woman falling victim to distraction theft over the weekend.
They were contact by the victim after they had their wallet stolen on May 27th.
The theft happened after she had entered her vehicle in a parking lot in the east end of town when an unknown suspect knocked on her window.
The victim was told that there was an issue with her rear tire. Once she exited the victim was found to have entered her vehicle and stolen the woman’s wallet.
It was later used in purchases of around $800. Police report similar incidents across Southwestern Ontario.
They urge everyone to remain vigilant.
