Residents of Parkview Manor were informed last week that the long term care home will be closing by the end of the year.
A letter sent out says they have made the difficult decision to apply to the Ministry of Long Term Care and Ontario Health to close Parkview Manor as of December 31st.
This comes from the challenge of meeting Ontario Regulation 150/13 with a fire code related to installing sprinklers in the home and they are unable to sustain the operations of the long term care home.
In a statement with the Shoreline Classics newsroom officials say a closure plan is in place to give the 25 residents time to find alternative living arrangements and help residents that best suits their individual needs and preferences.
