Phil Beard Retiring from Maitland Conservation After 46 Years

After 46 years serving with Maitland Conservation, Phil Beard is retiring.

Beard announced his retirement for 2026 in a letter to members of Maitland Conservation during their September meeting.

Phil has been with the organization for 46 years serving as the General Manager Secretary Treasurer since 1998.

Ed McGugan, Chair of Maitland Conservation says Phil has brought tremendous patience, grace and dignity to his position and has built an excellent team and great legacy that is appreciated by the residents in the watershed.

A recruitment process is underway ahead of Phil’s retirement in July next year.
