The Provincial Junior Hockey League’s Goderich Flyers are still looking for the team’s first win of their return to the Maitland Recreation Complex for the new season but this weekend won’t be forgiving.
The Flyers face the Hanover Barons tomorrow night at the MRC but the 8 and 2 Barons look to offer stifling opposition having 55 goals for and just 11 against just 11 games into the season.
Then Goderich is back on the ice less than 24 hours later when they face the Mount Forest Patriots Sunday at home at 2:30.
The Patriots sit just under 600 so far this season at 6 and 4 and have given up more goals than they’ve scored with them sitting at 36 and 30.
Bright lights for the Flyers so far this season have been Stratford native Ethan Hill. The Forward has 5 goals and 4 assists in 11 games played.
Between the pipes Spencer Lazarevich has been strong even with being winless so far this season. He has faced 247 shots so far this season in just 6 games and only let in 35 of them for a .858 save percentage.
