Plate Reader Leads to Multiple Charges in Walkerton Stop

A 35 year old man is facing a list of charges after a stop in Walkerton.

On January 1th at around 2:32pm, South Bruce OPP while on general patrol stopped to check a vehicle on May Street.

The officer was notified of their automated license plate recognition system of an issue with the vehicles licence plate.

A traffic stop found the plate was not authorized to be used on the vehicle and the driver under a driving prohibition.

The 35 year old man of West grey has been charged with Operation While Prohibited, Driving Under Suspension, Operating without Insurance, Possession of a Schedule II Substance and Possession of Unmarked Cigarettes.

The accused will appear in Walkerton court at a later date.
