Jorja Scott was diagnosed in February with Osteosarcoma bone cancer. This is the same cancer that Terry Fox battled that was the inspiration of His Marathon of Hope.
So far the teenager has been through 7 rounds of chemo and a 9-hour surgery in June to remove a tumor that resulted in the removal of 1/3 of her femur and it replaced with a prosthetic femur.
Thanks to Terry Fox and 40 years of donations to his foundation and the research and assistance this type of cancer is now manageable. It means that Jorja was able to have the surgery to save her leg.
Playtime Casino Hanover has joined Jorja’s Fox Trotters fundraising team.
It will be hosting “A Day of Hope” on Sunday, September 18th which will be a family fun filled day organized to involve the community in helping her and her family reach their goal of $10,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation.
