A call about a suspicious vehicle has led to an arrest and one Saugeen Shores Police cruiser in need of repairs.

They received a call early Wednesday morning around 3:50 about a pick up truck and trailer on Amanda’s Way.

Officers located the vehicle with the trailer in tow turning on to Bruce Road 33 where there was an attempt made at a rolling stop south of Port Elgin.

The vehicle did stop but then reaccelerated striking a cruiser in front of it and proceeded to try and flee.

It ended up going into a field where police managed to stop the vehicle and make an arrest.

A 44-year-old of no-fixed address is facing a number of charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, and dangerous driving, and was remanded in custody.

An officer was treated for minor injuries to his neck and back.
