Nominations are now open for the Police Association of Ontario’s 11th annual Police Services Hero of the Year and there’s already some local officers getting the spotlight.
Hero of the Year over the last decade has celebrated sworn and civilian police who go above and beyond for their communities.
Among the nominees includes Brian Lowerison with Saugeen Shores Police.
In a submission, the nominator writes Constable Lowerison can turn a difficult experience into a reassuring one, who offers support whether for guidance or to simply talk things through. Lowerison is nominated for the Extra Mile award which recognizes acts of extraordinary kindness or bravery while off duty.
