Police are warning residents of an ongoing text message scam.
Police say messages are being sent out claiming to be from the Ontario Government, saying due to inflation costs Premier Doug Ford has implemented a one time payment for all Ontario households, asking for a reply to process the deposit into your bank account.
OPP say this is simply nothing more than a scam, asking residents to not reply.
Police add to always make sure of the number and follow up with the appropriate agency and never to reply to suspicious texts.
