Another organization has made a donation to the Lamont Sports Park in Port Elgin.

The Illuminating Dreams Fundraising Campaign announced Wednesday that the Port Elgin and District Lions Club are donating $75,000 towards Phase Two of the project.

In a news release from the Town of Saugeen Shores, the Lions Club will receive lifetime naming rights to the park’s gazebo and sun shelter.

Campaign Co-Chair Mike Myatt says this is the third significant contribution made to the park in the last month following donations by Bruce Power and Saugeen Shores Rotary Club.

He says they have six more slots available for those interested in naming rights at the park.

Co-Chair Rob Stanley says there are more announcements to be made in the coming weeks as they shift their focus on making presentations to local businesses.
