MPP for Huron-Bruce Lisa Thompson announced today that the Ontario government is investing $6.3 million dollars to maintain paramedic staffing levels, wage & cost of living adjustments and general ambulance service operations to meet the needs of the local community.

The funding is through the annual Land Ambulance Service Grant to help municipalities facing increasing cost pressures in their emergency departments.

The local funding is part of an overall $765 million investment.

Thompson says that ensuring patients can access the care where they need it, when they need it is an important priority of the government.
