The Ontario Government through Premier Doug Ford announced today that starting Monday, October 25, 2021 capacity limits will be lifted in a majority of settings where providing a proof of vaccination is required including restaurants and gyms.

The Province said it’s the first step in a gradual phased in approach to lifting all remaining public health restrictions by March of next year. This includes mandatory face masks and the vaccine passport system that just launched in September.

The next timeline for the lifting of restrictions is January 17th where capacity limits will be lifted in settings where proof of vaccination is not required as long as there are no concerning trends during winter months.

Proof of vaccination could also be lifted at that time as well.

Three weeks following that date on February 7th the goal is to lift the proof-of-vaccination at high risk settings as well. These include nightclubs and strip clubs.

The date the Province is aiming at to have all remaining public health and workplace measures lifted is March 28th, 2022.
