The Provincial Government announced today that they will make 11 million voluntary take home rapid antigen test available to public schools ahead of the December break.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit says they do not recommend asymptomatic testing due to the low case counts in their region.
They say that those experiencing Covid-19 symptoms or have been advised that they are a close contact of someone diagnosed with Covid-19 should be tested.
Public Health says rapid antigen testing is not very reliable due to the accuracy of the tests and that if found positive a standard PCR test is still required for an assessment centre.
They say that rapid tests provide a false assurance on Covid-19.
