Public Celebration of Life set for Bluewater Fireflighter who Lost Life

There is a public celebration of life event happening this Friday for a firefighter who lost their life responding to a boating incident at the age of 46.

The public event for John Vanderhaar is set for the Bayfield Community Centre on Friday, June 23rd from 1 to 5pm with words of remembrance at 3 pm. John hailed from Goderich.

He had been a member of the Department for 14 years. He leaves behind his wife of 12 years Della.

He was known as a hard worker and proud owner of Bayfield Tree Service.

There will be a private family funeral in addition to the public event.
