Feedback is being sought on the future of the Goderich Memorial Arena.

Earlier this year the arena closed suddenly which the town saying it was aging infrastructure, a lack of long term investment and financial issues with a need to address safety and accessibility concerns.

Goderich Mayor Trevor Bazinet says the future of the arena does lay in the hands of the public on what they have to say.

“All options are on the table, if the majority of people who come and say ‘we don’t want to pay for this anymore get rid of it’ then so be it. But I have a feeling there’s a lot people who want this facility to survive whether its what is there now or a new facility. That needs to be decided.” said Bazinet.

Meetings will be held at the Comfort Inn in town on April 4th from 9am-8pm and April 5th from 9am-6pm.

These meetings will allow residents to share ideas, give feedback and put together a plan on the future of the arena.

Those who can’t take part in person can provide feedback online.
