The Grey Bruce Public Health is seeking the public’s help in locating the owner of a dog that was involved in a biting incident last Saturday in Southampton.

At around 11:30 am a large dog, which appeared to be a cross between a heeler and a border collie, bit a woman riding a bicycle on Spence Street between Grenville Street Southa and Anglesia Street South.

Two women, who appeared to be a mother & daughter, were walking it with a smaller dog when the incident occurred.

The pair had 2 children with them, including one who was driving a batter-powered, ride-on car.

Public Health staff need to confirm the dog is not infectious with rabies.

This will  avoid the victim receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
