April marks Oral Health Month in Canada and Huron Perth Public Health’s Oral Health Team is using the time to highlight dental visits.

The service is something offered for free at HPPH dental clinics for children aged three years and under.

At the clinics one of the health unit’s dental hygienists will look in the child’s mouth for any concerns such as early signs of tooth decay.

The free clinics are being offered at the public health dental clinic in Clinton and are available with an appointment.

In addition if a family meets the income eligibility requirement staff can assist with enrolling their child in Healthy Smiles Ontario, a program providing free preventive, routine and emergency dental services for children and youth 17 years and under for low income households.
