With a heat wave continuing across the area Grey-Bruce Public Health is advising residents to protect themselves against heat related illnesses during the week.
Environment Canada says daytime temperatures can reach as high as 30-35 degrees with humidex values reaching 40-45 with overnight temperatures at a low of 20-23.
Anyone can develop heat related illness including heat stroke, heat exhaustion and these can develop quickly and lead to long term health problems.
Public health says its best to wear loose fitting, light coloured clothing, only take part in outdoor activities during cooler parts of the day, take cool showers and to block out the sun while indoors by closing curtains or blinds.
