In response to requests from men in the area looking to support the Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey, the organization is offering free online male allyship training starting later this month.

The virtual training sessions will run every Wednesday for eight weeks, starting Jan. 25.

The goal is to provide aspiring male allies a chance to learn new things, unpack misconceptions, and connect with others to discuss how they can make positive changes in their lives to help reduce gender based violence.

Jessica St. Peter, public education coordinator of Women’s house, says the training is a unique opportunity for the area.

“It is led by men, for men,” she says. “It gives the opportunity for a group of men to get together and think about what have been the struggles for holding their buddies accountable or calling each other out when they say something oppressive. We know those struggles are unique to men.”

Registration closes on Monday, Jan. 16. To sign up, visit here.
