Research is taking place at Station Beach in Kincardine.
The University of Waterloo is conducting a study looking at the effectiveness of Kincardine’s Smart Beach Light hazard warning system and to better understand how visitors have responded to warnings.
The public is being encouraged to share their thoughts on the beach light if they’ve recently visited station beach.
Through the rest of August and September, researchers are collecting hourly images during daylight hours to estimate the number of people on the beach and in the water.
Images will only be sued for counting purposes, will be deleted after counting is complete, not shared publicly and faces being blurred.
