Sacred Heart Students Win NII Science Olympics

Students from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Walkerton came out on top at this year’s Science Olympics hosted by the Nuclear Innovation Institute.

The team of four students were among 17 teams of students across Bruce, Grey and Huron Counties on May 8th with a day full of hands on challenges testing critical thinking, teamwork and scientific smarts.

Sacred Heart students came in first while Georgian bay Community Schools Team A placed second and Goderich District Collegiate Institute’s Team B took third.

Taking home the Science Olympics championship belt, the winning team was made up of students Jacob Conaway, Seth Dippel, Joel Montag and Sam Smith.
