The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority share that this week is Invasive Species Week.
It is meant to educate and advise everyone about one of the greatest threats to Canada’s wild animals and plant life.
They say these species often accidentally arrive and establish themselves in the absence of natural predators.
As a result these species kill, crowd out or devastate native species and their ecosystems.
