Saugeen First Nation apologized to residents after an unexpected internet outage knocked out service on Tuesday.

The band has been working on upgrading the fibre optic internet in the area and say there’s been challenges at some site locations that aren’t responsive.

They said that extraneous circumstances beyond their control meant they weren’t able to notify the community ahead of the outage and apologized for the inconvenience and frustration it caused.

SFN is in the first phase of planned upgrades to the local internet to solve long-standing connection issues.
