The Chippewas of Saugeen First Nation issued a response after the Town of South Bruce Peninsula filed a notice of appeal the recent court decision affirming the First Nation as rightful owners of Sauble Beach up to a point north of 6th Street North.

The Chief & Council say they are disappointment by the Town’s decision but add they are a normal part of the legal process.

They later add they are confident the trial judge’s decision was correct and say the people of Saugeen First Nation have collectively been fighting for the beach for more than 170 years.
