The Town of Saugeen Shores has authorized the next steps in development for Cedar Crescent Village which is on the edge of the Port Elgin Beach.

The move comes six months after the Town’s Committee of the Whole recommended entering into a Site Works & Servicing Agreement with the project’s developer.

Since then the developer executed the agreement & submitted plans and drawings that will finalize the project and support the waterfront development.

The developer has responded to an RFP to develop the previous Station site with the goal of creating restaurant & retail opportunities as well as a permanent location for market activities.

There is a timeline for the site which includes the developer getting a building permit in the next 3 months and the project being completed within 2 years following that.

The developer also has to permit access to the beach while the project is being built.
