The Town of Saugeen Shores is set to receive a Staff Report at its Council meeting tonight on the recent North Shore Park Train Survey.

In it they will hear the results indicated of the 2190 votes cast 57% were in favour of the Town bringing the train back to the park and 43% against.

Many comments were provided, and they included some frustrated by the simple nature of the survey, with some wanting to provide comments on the design and aspects of the train proposal, and others saying it would bring too much development to the park.

Staff is recommending that Council work with the owner of the train Scott Pearson on incorporating the proposal into the master plan process for the park.

Next steps on the project are retaining a Landscape Architect, a public consultation on the design achieved in September with a presentation to Council in November and any agreement with the North Shore Railroad by December.

The Council Meeting is set to begin 6:30 pm.

It is available at the Town of Saugeen Shores YouTube page.

Full details of the Report are available at the link below.
