Saugeen Shores residents will see a bump in their property tax bill.

Town Council gave preliminary approval of the 2022 draft budget at their last Committee of the Whole meeting (on January 24th).

It includes a 4.5 percent increase in the tax levy, something Mayor Luke Charbonneau says they needed to do to make up for a minimal increase in the last budget.

Total expenditures in the budget is over $48.7 Million.

Charbonneau says that includes $1.5 Million for designs for a new aquatic centre that he hopes to have construction begin in 2023.

He says recent growth of new homes and businesses in the town is resulting in these project being built.
