Saugeen Shores issues Statement from Mayor on Death of Queen Elizabeth II

The Town of Saugeen Shores issued a statement from Mayor Luke Charbonneau following the announcement of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Charbonneau says that it was with great sadness the town recognized her passing. He adds that as a community founded by British Citizens they have always had an affinity for their Queen.

He adds her longevity, her poise and grace and her affinity for Canada – alongside her late consort, His Majesty Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh, were greatly appreciated by Canadians and will never be forgotten.

The Mayor says he has directed staff to lower flags to half-mast on all municipal properties. They encourage residents & organizations who fly the Canadian flag to do the same.

He closes by saying on behalf of the residents and Council he offers his deepest condolences to the Royal Family and the mourning nation.
