The Saugeen Shores Police are concerned about the increasing number of elderly residents purchasing large amounts of gift cards from local pharmacies.
They ask everyone to speak with their parents and grand parents about common phone scams and direct them not to purchase gift cards for those posing as the Federal Government or similar fraudsters.
They also advise local businesses that sell gift cards to print the poster they provided and post it in their store in the area of the gift cards to help prevent the fraud.
If you have been a victim of fraud make sure to report it immediately to Police.
