Saugeen Shores sees Officers Assaulted after Car Theft from Lamont Sports Park

Officers called to the scene around 10:20pm after reports of it being taken by an intoxicated female without permission. 10 minutes later an off-duty officer observed it circling a neighourhood with no taillights.

The Saugeen Shores Police have charged a 32-year-old female with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and more after they stole a vehicle from Lamont Sports Park last night.

Officers were called to the scene around 10:20 after reports of it being taken by an intoxicated female without permission.

10 minutes later an off-duty officer observed it circling a neighourhood with no taillights.

The officer kept monitor while on-duty police responded.

Once police arrived the female punched an officer in the face and attempted to escape on foot.

She also later assaulted two other officers at the police station.

The Bruce County resident has been charged with 3 counts of assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and impaired operation 80 plus.
