More areas are getting in the festive mood this week.
Saugeen Shores are holding a tree lighting ceremony in downtown Port Elgin and Southampton this Thursday night.
Chamber of Commerce Business Development Coordinator Christine Mitchell says it will take place at Coulter Parkette and at the Southampton Town Hall.
Mitchell says that evening it will be Shopper’s Night so people are being encouraged to visit local merchants and get a head start on your Christmas shopping.
This weekend is also the first of two Santa Claus parades happening this Saturday night in Port Elgin.
