Saugeen Shores has set a record for building permits issued.
The Town, in a news release, says there were 526 permits issued in 2021 with a total construction value of $154 Million.
That includes residential, commercial, agricultural, and other new builds as well as renovations, additions, and demolitions.
The previous record was $120 Million set two year ago (in 2019).
They add it is also well above the five-year average of $106 Million.
The Town says they have worked with builders to encourage new forms of development and promoting affordable and accessible housing.
