Dogs could be barred from the Port Elgin cenotaph park.

There was a request by the Royal Canadian Legion made to Saugeen Shores Council at last Monday’s Committee of the Whole meeting suggesting that the Town consider such a move after complaints from the public about people not picking up after their dogs.

Mayor Luke Charbonneau says this has been problem for the last couple of years but believes a few rogue dog owners are behind this.

Staff have recommended that the current by-law be amended that would prohibit all dogs at cenotaph park with the exception of service dogs.
