Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority issues Advisory on Lake Huron Shoreline

By this evening sustained winds of 60 km are expected from the south but will quickly change direction overnight.  Strong winds and saturated soils will increase the risk of erosion along the Lake Huron shoreline.

The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority sent an advisory out today that a gale wind warning in effect for the Lake Huron shoreline.

They say by this evening, sustained winds of 60 km are expected from the south but will quickly change direction overnight.  They say strong winds and saturated soils will increase the risk of erosion along the Lake Huron shoreline.

While significant flooding is not anticipated, wave uprush, shoreline erosion of low-lying areas is expected.

The SVCA says to stay well back from the shoreline at this time. The advisory remains in effect until 10pm on Thursday.
