The South Bruce Grey Health Centre says they’re working on stabilizing staffing levels at the Chesley Hospital but it doesn’t appear there will be any changes to the emergency department’s hours anytime soon.

In a statement issued this morning, the health centre said they are working hard on staffing so they can increase hours of service as soon as they’re able.

The ED is currently open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. The shift to reduced hours came after the health centre was forced to close it for two months due to staffing issues.

They say short notice closures of the department may still be required moving forward as well.
