The South Bruce Grey Health Centre are not ready to make all of their staff get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Many hospitals like the Grey Bruce Health Services (with hospitals in Southampton, Wiarton, and Owen Sound) have implemented a COVID-19 vaccine policy where unvaccinated staff would face disciplinary action.
But President and CEO Michael Barrett says the compliance rate at their hospitals in Kincardine, Walkerton, Chesley, and Durham is already high.
Barrett says the hospital organization are under Directive Six of the Public Hospitals Act and feels there is no need for them to implement punitive measures.
He says because the hospital has a high compliance rate across all departments, they don’t think there will be a problem having staff available.
