Huron County OPP say it has arrested a Huron County man who assaulted a security guard and forced his way into the Emergency Department in Goderich.
Police were called to the scene Monday at approximately 6:25 pm after learning of the assault by the suspect.
He also threatened to harm several staff members while carrying a weapon.
The suspect vacated the premises prior to police arrival but was located shortly thereafter.
Upon arrest the accused resisted and assaulted one officer who received a minor injury.
A 63-year-old of ACW has been charged with:
- resisting arrest
- 2 counts of criminal harassment
- 7 counts of uttering threats
- 2 counts of assault
- 5 counts of assault with a weapon
- assaulting a police officer
- assaulting a police officer with a weapon
- breaking & entering
- mischief under $5,000
- 4 counts of possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
- 2 counts of carrying a concealed weapon
The accused remains in custody pending a court appearance set for a Goderich Court tomorrow.
