South Bruce Coucil has appointing Ron Schnurr to fill a vacant council seat representing the Mildmay-Carrick Ward for the remainder of the current council term.

It decided to fill the vacancy through appointment after Councillor Audrey Bross resigned earlier this year.

The process took place during a special meeting on March 21st.

Schnurr is a former councillor for South Bruce, and is a fourth generation resident who has lived in the community his entire life.

Mayor Mark Goetz says he felt that Schnurr would make a great addition to council, adding his previous experience and his current involvement with numerous community committees would be an asset.
