South Bruce OPP charge 24-year-old after Discharge of Firearm in Scuffle

The incident occurred on Tuesday after the suspect met with police and was taken into custody without incident and taken to hospital. It was there incident occured when they became combative.

The South Bruce OPP have charged a 24-year-old after an incident in Wiarton in which a police officer was involved with a struggle in which a round of a firearm was discharged.

The incident occurred on Tuesday after the suspect met with police and was taken into custody without incident and taken to hospital. While there they became combative and started grabbing at the officer’s firearm.

During this time the weapon went off.

No injuries were reported.

The resident of South Bruce Peninsula has been charged with resisting, assaulting and disarming an officer.

They were held in custody pending a bail hearing in Owen Sound.
