South Bruce OPP charge Boater after Long Weekend Lake Huron Patrol

The South Bruce OPP found a vessel that was lacking required safety equipment patrols of the waters of Lake Huron over the long weekend.

In the incident a 41-year-old Kincardine resident was charged under the Canada Shipping Act.

Examples of required equipment includes lifejackets or personal floatation devices, reboarding device, buoyant heaving line, a manual bilge pump as well as flares.

What is required to carry varies by vessel and vessel length.
